Mother's Day

Sunday, May 13th was my first Mother's day! You never know just how you appreciate your own mother until you have kids and become one yourself. What a job huh! Whew! It makes me tired just thinking about it. The sleepless nights, the endless time spent changing, feeding, playing, rocking, etc. Not to mention the forever money pit that is created once you give birth!

But overall, it's been the biggest blessing I've ever experienced! Life would just not be the same without her! She's the joy of my life and the best thing that has ever happened.

Of course I must give credit to my stay-at-home daddy hubby! The hardest working dad I've ever seen! He's great with her and has his own system that even I can't top! As a mother of course I've had many doubts and he's definitely proved me wrong. Even with the new cloth diapering system which was a very hard task to get him started. At the end of the day he will always be guy but at least he's good with her. That's what matters the most!

I also must give even more credit to my own mother! I wouldn't even know where to begin if I did not have the teachings and values instilled in me by her. She was the best mother and still is. As a stay at home mother, she spent the first half of my life with my sister and I everyday!
Now that I am a working mother I envy that bond and want the same for my daugher. It's funny because now that school is almost over for me, I am thinking of just how can I become a stay at home mother! Something that doesn't take a college education, but heart and spirit which is much more fulfilling than any corporate job. At the moment I am not able to venture into the SAHM (Stay at home Mom) world, but I'm hoping it's in my cards for the future.

Oddly enough, I just had my 28th birthday yesterday which was the day after mother's day. Isn't it ironic how my birthday always falls during the same time as Mother's day. My mother and I fight about who's day it is when happens to be the same day. It's funny because without me she wouldn't be a mom, but without her, I would have a birthday! So, I guess in this case the chicken comes before the egg!

:-)
